Wow me likey GT-R
http://www.egmcartech.com/2007/09/24...on-carrera-gt/ Thats fast! Faster than i thought it would be... I knew it would be 'ring king but not quite Carrera GT caliber. Looks like the test bed is wearing some sticky rubber. I genuinely like the styling all around, but those exhaust pipes look abnormally large on the camo'd car. edit: lol just noticed that the pics that show the pipes are from a video game. |

Maybe Something More Like This....???
Prototype Mercedes SL "Black" Series
A prototype for the Mercedes SL Black Series has been spotted on public roads around the Nürburgring, in preparation for some hot laps later this week. This is the most wicked SL ever conceived, with optimum performance its top priority. Huge flared fenders are likely created with ultra-light carbon fibre, to reduce weight and to accommodate this car's enormous wheels and tires. The roof on this SL has been converted into a fixed coupe roof, also crafted in carbon fibre to lower the Black Series' center of gravity and further reduce weight. Exactly what engine mods have been employed here are uncertain, but you can be sure it's insanely powerful. GCF I'm not a big fan of Mercedes- but this thing is awesome- perfect extrapolation of Mercedes space-vampire/international-pimp/muscle-car aesthetic. imho....of course. |

I have a couple employees who are big gt-r fans (one of them has one with 600whp). Anyways, they showed me some nurburgring times the other day with the (unofficial) lap time of 7:15, I immediately laughed it off thinking they must be joking. THey were serious. I told them to look at the weight/power ratio of the other cars in the low 7:30's and the fact that they all have ceramic brakes. If this thing does weight 3700+ lbs and has 450-500hp with no ceramic brakes and laps faster then the carrera gt, I'll eat my shirt. The power/weight ratio +braking isn't close to the top dawgs. Obviously, it's still a freak of nature for the purported 57=67k price. And mod friendly.

Obviously power to weight ratios isn't all there is to lap times.
Look at all those steering wheel buttons... little distracting IMO and gives it a video game look. I do like the cockpit though. |

I mean, would you also say that an NSX is no different from an Accord, and a Supra from a Camry? |
