JDM Subaru WRX STI Official pics!

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-...ti-jdm/430799/

So what do you think?

As much as I dislike the generic new Impreza design, I think STI division did the best they could with what they were given. In fact I like it better than the previous STI both inside and out.

I also like the 8000RPM red line on the JDM version. I'm sure we won't get that, as USM engine is bigger.

It looks great, except for the rear. It looks like ass. It really brings the whole thing down. Reminds me too much of a Focus.

The US will get the same model as the JDM, except for the engine. They did not make a sedan version of the new STi since this is what the rally car is based on. I personally think it looks pretty good, I just wish they would have made a 2 door version instead of the 4 door.

I think the clear taillights look like crap both in color and in shape. It's like Subaru copied the Mazda 3, and then went "ah, it's too obvious, let's just mess up the tail lights."

But I can't blame STI for that. Everything that STI did, I am more or less happy with.

Another reservation would be the interior plastic quality. When I sat in a regular Impreza, I was very disappointed by the dash board material. As stark and outdated as it looked, the old car actually used soft and durable plastic. The new one felt very cheap.

I like it. When all I had to go on was the WRX pics, I was scared that the STi would look terrible.

Another reason to get the 135i.

GM had nothing to do with this. Subaru-GM alliance is long gone.

Like the front fenders, wheels, interior, does not look bad, not great, but not bad. I am sure it will be a fun car to drive. If 135 will be too much, this might be it, assuming hp>300 and price around 33,000. I like it.

OK Serious, the old STI looked very good, but this thing could be a Pagani Zonda and i would even ...
Sorry, but this is my opinion...

That's fine, at the end of the day, you sure don't buy an STI for its looks.

I thought alzettas were so 1990's....

The rest of the car looks fairly evil, but I'm not 17 any more so I couldn't drive it. Too over the top tuner-ish for me.

I actually really like it, of course I've always had an affinity for hatches. I'm amazed at how much better this looks than the WRX (in spite of the tail lights). I could use the practicality, so I will definitely put the STI on my list (along with the 1).

Would you believe it's actually growing on me. I would remove the 'unibrow' in the grill between the headlights and get some standard red tail's. Then i actually might like it!

The interior is a little too 'transformers' for my likeing
