I am soooo ready for teleportation

Any of you Trekkies remember if they ever said when the Transporter was invented? I'm sick to death of traveling all day just to get somewhere.

9 hours in the car today to get to Cadillac, MI to visit Wifey's family. Oh, my aching back and hips. I look like Methusaleh getting out of the car after just a couple of hours.

I still remember the movie the Fly, so there is that aspect of it.

Won't be invented for another 80 years, but won't be perfected for another 250+ years. You best to get out the hind end massager for we'll all be long dead.

If teleportation existed today, the last place I’d go is to see in-laws.

Took my daughter to see the Jeff Goldblum version when she was a little girl. We both left teary-eyed.

Obviously, you need to trade in that Mercedes for a BEAMER! (sic)

Seriously though, the crappy Mercedes-sourced seats that came from the factory in the getting-mightier Freightliner are the most comfortable ones we've ever had on road trips, and both my DW and I can do 14+ hours per day on the road without any pain.....

Was it a movie or show I don't remember.. but there was one type that would transfer your consciousness into a clone somewhere else and basically vaporize your original body. Hard pass on that one.

The seats in my GLC300 are ok, but not for more than a couple of hours. But I get stiff hips and back sitting in any chair for very long. Just a reminder that I'm not a youngsta any more.

Traveling in general sucks serious ass. Some of the family is planning a trip to Spain later this month. I really like Spain and flights are fairly cheap... but just the thought of all those flights in that goddamn sardine can... meh I think I'll pass. There's lots of places I would like to go and we have the time to go... but the traveling aspect of it just makes me not want to go anywhere.

At least you have company. I travel alone. In a Kia.

But it does have lane assist and cruise assist. Both of which work fantastic.

This. I love being somewhere else (most of the time). I just hate getting there and back.

If you're familiar with the teleporation paradox there is a line of logic that once you enter the teleport you are killed. The person that is "assembled' on the other end is just an exact duplicate of you unaware of what they are. Then when they are teleported back they are killed and another exact duplicate is created.

Sounds a little like the movie "The Prestige.”

Great movie, BTW.

Theragun or something similar really helps. I take it with me on longer drives for my wife, but I use it too. It was a little pricy but worth it.

On the bright side, you don't need to worry about being clocked by radar or laser if you break this speed limit.....
