50k service

I bought my 540i off a lease ( 2020 540i) I just got my first oil change and they are trying to tell me I need to do spark plugs, fuel induction, and coolant flush.

Spark plugs I can change myself, and I know how to check for those.

Me being new to the g30 platform coming from a e46 m3 and n55 335 I wasn’t sure about the fuel induction and coolant flush so I declined and asked for a price and told them I would think about it.

Anyone out there what’s your advice If these are truly needed?

Coolant might be able to wait another year or two. Plugs are typically changed at 60k.
Based on miles, most experts recommend (assuming you are keeping the car long term) to change the transmission, transaxle and differential fluids at either 50k or 60k.

So you may want to save all this to 60k and do it then. A 2020 will be due for brake fluid in 2025 as well. So maybe everything will come up next year?

Yeah my car does tell me brake fluid is due August so might split it up and do half at once and the other half later. I do plan to keep the car long term so I want to maintain it as bmw recommends

Have a 2021 540i xdrive. At around 60k I did spark plugs, front+rear diff fluid replacement, transfer case fluid replacement (requires scan tool to open transfer case otherwise you can't even get a small tube in there to pull out fluid), and transmission fluid with pan replacement.

I heard coolant flush was more involved than any of those other things so I'm kind of waiting on that a little. It was about $1000 for all of that stuff just doing the labor myself so I need to save up for the coolant!

None of the fluids looked bad and the spark plugs looked fine. To the point I'm almost thinking of waiting 70K instead of 60K next time.

Do both - coolant and intake valve cleaning. By now the fuel deposits will be significant and 4-5 years is about the time new coolant is a good idea.

B58s are known for intake deposits that early? I know it is inevitable on DI, but that soon?

The N54 was the walnut-blasting engine. The N55 is much, much better. My SA told me they only blast the N55 to solve an issue that other measures won't. The B58 is even better. I wouldn't even think of blasting until at least 100K miles.
