Question regarding ceramic quote and washing

Hey all,

Applied gyeon pure coat evo + cancoat evo four days ago. Yesterday a sprinkler left a bunch of hard water spots along my vehicle.

I know you’re suppose to wait 2 weeks to wash your car after applying gyeon evo products. What’s the lesser of two evils for the coat — waiting two weeks and allowing hard water marks to sit for another week and a half, or is more important to wash now and get the hard water spots off?

Thanks.

You can use a good detailer like Carpro Elixir without damaging the ceramic coating to get rid of the water spotting. Have used this for several years.

You can make your own Elixir as well. Carpro and most detailers are mostly water in their bottled products. So making your own cost considerably less.

Carpro Merlins Mixture there are a lot of results, people commenting on multiple combinations.

2oz Reload / 2oz Ech20 / 28oz Distilled Water.

I'd wash it and get the contamination off.

Will washing a few days after the ceramic application pull off any of the coating before it’s had time to cure?

Gyeon recommend:

Quote:
When you finish applying Q² CanCoat EVO the car should remain in the garage/studio for 12 hours. Any contact with chemicals/detergents shall be avoided for the next 7 days.
I'd wash it using a very mild pH-neutral shampoo (or QD the areas with the water spots, depends how much of it got spotted). Worst comes to the worst you could apply another layer of Cancoat, but I can't see one pH-neutral wash taking off all of the Cancoat and the Pure as well...

This ^

I've washed Gyeon Mohs Evo 2 days after application, due to being rained on, with no ill effects. 4 days out you'll be just fine.

I ended up washing with a ph neutral soap on day 5. All seems to be well.

Think I should add another layer of CanCoat next week? Or no real point?

Almost certainly will be fine without but another coat will do no harm, so if you have the time and inclination go for it.

I didn’t add any additional coating. It seems to be holding up well. Man I love being able to use my leaf blower to dry after washing. Don’t have to touch the vehicle at all with any towels.

That’s the idea. The less time u touch the paint the better. That’s why i also transitioned to a small air blower.
