But is it really true that girls like guys who drive stick shifts better?

Or is it that they like sporty cars, which happen to be stick alot?

Just curious for others opinions (and I will still get a manual 135i no matter what you say. I'm not that shallow)

lol...how did we know THAT was coming! haha....honestly, I think it's the second...chicks like the sports cars, and most happen to be sticks...because most of them are purchased by enthusiasts, or just those that wanna DRIVE!

i think chicks don't like guys who drive stick just to be more appealing to chicks. chicks generally like guys who have the confidence to do their own thing because they enjoy it and not to impress chicks.

Both my sister and my girlfriend can drive sticks. My sister does it every day. Both were taught by their fathers, who were plain-jane people when it came to cars (automatics cost extra). Both own or have owned fun-to-drive cars.

It is handy for me that my girlfriend can drive a stick. If I need to borrow her Mariner to haul a TV or a dorm room full of stuff, she can still get to her real-estate appointments in my Focus ST.

I have worked a little with my daughter, but need to work on it some more. I can see her driving a sporty car once her career blossoms. And, she will need to if she wants to drive my future 1er!

ok, I'll stay focussed. Girls who can drive a manual car = awesome.

I've had more negative comments about having a manual car from girls than positives... but hey, there's a reason why I haven't found the 1 yet.

Lastly, and I've said this before elsewhere... I think everyone should learn how to drive a manual. I find it hard to fathom that there is a whole group of people out there who are unable to drive a fair part of the vehicles out there. I couldn't imagine having a wife who couldn't take my car instead of hers; or drive it when I'm drunk, or even worse.

That's true up to a point. Girls respond to confidence, not just looks. I know several guys that look like models but are VERY insecure about their looks, career or personality. Over time women get sick of that. Women want a man that is kind, caring yet very secure in the fact that he is in fact a man and they sure don't want a man that spends more time grooming himself then they do.

p.s. Tomorrow is my wifes and my 20th wedding anniversary. Heh

It's a power and control thing. If you can drive a stick hard, and know what your doing.... chicks dig it. I've tested the theory many times.

I got paddles on this one because it's tough to shift on the highway while she's .........

i dunno about if girls prefer a guy driving stick or auto. i can't think of any reason for a girl to like a guy driving a stick unless the girl is into cars also. a girl would want the guy to drive a auto so the guy can hold the girl's hand in the car while driving... awwwwwwwww... how sweet...

i can drive a stick! i drive my porsche weekly and whenever i get in that car, i want to drive it rough!!:biggrin: (get your head out of the gutter guys!)
