Questions on 2025 M5 european delivery pickup in Munich
Hi. Does anyone have any details on the process of ordering a 2025 M5 (or any car built in Germany) and picking it up in Munich? Do you then have to pay to have it shipped to the US, etc? Just looking for a better understanding of how it all works.

Euro delivery is no longer being offered. The program was cut in early 2020.

1) find a good dealer to work with… 1a) if you were on the east coast or could do a pickup at the Performance Center in SC - you could work with any dealer in the US. 2) order the car 3) once it entered production, you’d confirm your delivery date at the Welt (München) 4) pack your bags, fly to München, get a complimentary ride in a 7er or X7 from MUC to the Welt 5) enjoy some Wurst and Bier at the exec lounge while you wait for your delivery time 6) take delivery, learn about your new ride….the last delivery I took at the Welt, they had added a digital experience for instruction about your car 7) exit the Welt with your new ride…park in the garage and tour the museum or get on the road to start your holiday and break-in procedure 8) when you’re done and ready to depart back to the US, you’d drop at any number of drop off points around the EU…. I always found it best to drop at LoginOut at MUC…. After several weeks, it shows up at your dealership for re-delivery….or in my case, at the performance center for PC-Re-D At the time of ED being discontinued, everything was gratis, except for your flights and hotel…. BMW even provided two weeks of tourist registration and insurance. You could stay longer…up to 5 mos I believe (you’d have to get a Visa since visa-free in the Schengen area is a max of 90 days, but I digress)… the extended insurance/registration was reasonable, too. That’s about it…. It was a real shame the program was cancelled….fingers crossed the line on the price guide means they’re at least considering bringing it back….even if it’s for a fee…EU customers can p/u at the Welt for a reasonable charge…. Worth every € I’d love to p/u my G99 next year at the Welt
