Cigar Smoke Thread

Couldn’t find this Thread topic, even with the search function.

I know there must be a few of you that enjoy lighting up a stick or two. Maybe collect? So let’s see what you’re current picks are and/or what you’re smoking on…

I like something light, draws well, and where I don't feel like I licked an ashtray the following morning. So I haven't really like Maduro and haven't gone back to them.

I stick with Conneticut wrappers, I like Cubans, but as of recently have been mostly buying sticks in the US, ergo, no Cubans. Of late, I've liked:

Leaf by Oscar (conneticut)
Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne
Some Rocky Patels of various types.

Odd - I know we had a thread on this.

Only partake when I golf. AVO, Leaf, Cohiba Red Dots, Monte's and well...these.

Thought we had a thread as well, but I enjoy a good cigar. My go to is a Padron natural.

Great thread idea. I've got dozens of sticks, but it has been a while since I've lit one up. Maybe this weekend.

Also curious on your storage approach. What kind of humidors and how to properly maintain.

Lately I've been enjoying Ghurkas. I grabbed some of the 15 & 21 year olds a while back. Great smoke, sadly i've run out and now the hunt is on for some more.

Just a humidor, well seasoned with boveda packs.

I’m actually fortunate to work in the industry.

ATF will see you now....

I forgot about Monte's - I like those as well. Though again, prefer the cuban No. 2's.

What sort of AVO ones do you like - haven't heard of them (because I'm ignorant in cigars in general is why)...wondering if maybe I need to source some of those next summer.

Deadwood Leather Rose and Girl with No Name
Arturo Fuente Don Carlos and Short Story

These have been my go-to so far. I like just about the entire Deadwood series.

Can't really go wrong with a Short Story

Since I'm low scale - I just keep a box on my bar. Inside the box, I keep 2 gel sticks with propylene glycol (fill them maybe once a month). Seems to be able to go a bit longer than a water pack alone.

And before anyone mentions the bottle on the right, I keep my humidor in Mexico as well.

Damn - after seeing that humidor - need to up my game.

But - now I'm wondering if I should be removing the cellophane packaging?

I'm a non-smoker but I do partake in an occasional Cuban while on vacation In Cayo-Coco. I always bring a few into Canada since we have no embargo with Cuba.
My lady size Guantanamera Habanera (Cristales). 5˝ X 41 from the Vuelta Arriba region. Very mild with a nice aroma. And affordable.

My second wife's father was from Cuba and he would bring me back some sticks when he traveled to see family. Definitely some excellent cigars but I didn't think appreciatively better than the best Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic can produce.

Typically I like Rocky Patels, Romeo y Julieta, Punch, CAO, and of course Padron. If my wife is in the mood she likes a mocha Java robusto.

I don't like cigar ash all over the patio so I dedicated a corner for it which we call the "crows nest". This Victor Calvo is from a box a co-worker brought me back from Nicaragua.

Overly true statement...it's more about what we cannot have. Just like the Havana rum that is not the best on my bar. I'm just not replacing that empty bottle quickly - or easily.

Did you purchase the Havana Club in your country? If yes, it's probably made in Porto Rico under license.

No - I travel out of the country frequently and typically make it a point to hit the liquor stores.

I'm still partial to Macanudo. I've always been disappointed with the volume of smoke from a draw, no matter how I cut the tip. Now I found this spike (will have to get the name later) that lets me adjust how deep I twist it in. My preference is to the hilt, and the volume from a draw is back up CLOSE to what I expect.
