Tesla S Plaid Drags - Lucid Sapphire - Rimac Nevera!
EVs are here to stay... Period. Now that we've gotten that out of the way.
But they also represent the absolute quickest times of any production vehicles in history. Achieving times that are unheard of unless you have several Millions of dollars for one Hypercar or you are towing your own non streetable Muscle Dragster to the strip on a Trailer! Having personally ridden in and driven both a modified Supercar and a relatives heavily modified 69' Camaro equipped with racing slicks and a wheelie bar in 9ish seconds, I can confirm how mind bending quick these speeds are. In fact, they are dangerously deceptive in terms of the feeling and pressure they place on your senses. The fact that these 3 cars here can literally be purchased straight from the dealer and hit these numbers when pulling right off of the parking lot is pure insanity! And I'm all for it. |

I have no interest in any of these 3. Yes they're fast. Whatever. They all look like reject designs from Grand Theft Auto.

I forgot to add, I've sat inside the Lucid and seen several in my area, not necessarily the Sapphire model. It is a very attractive car inside and out. I would gladly own one. The Tesla brand has never appealed to me outside or inside. It's just too generic and boring for me personally.

No interest in these cars at all from me either, but I'll bet that Rimac is fun for 9 seconds or so.

There are still many challenges to be overcome, from infrastructure to range to battery chemistry and QC. But, these are clearly early days. To each his own.

I'll be interested when it's a ICE/HCE hybrid driving the Regen for the EV motors.
Until then, nice 1/4m times. Not interested in batteries.

So far, the only company to announce an onboard ICE generator capable of charging internal HV battery is Stellantis, with the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, unfotunately BMW has discontinued the i3.

They might be here to stay and not to turn this political but with your new president elect I have to wonder what's going to happen to the EV industry. The mandates will be gone, so I suspect the already bogged down market for EV's will likely slow to a crawl. |

The EV industry wpuld be healthier without mandates and tax breaks. They would have to focus on building cars that make economic sense and are actually good, rather than rushing to push something they lose a little money as possible on to satisfy bureaucrats.

Been 8.90’s in the GTR. No need for an EV to hit those times. Now that was on 18’s which the car has not been on in awhile. But who drag races now a days anyway? Roll Racing or bust baby

China market is a lost cause for any non CDM car. The CCP will one day just pull the plug on foreign companies anyways. Or they'll encourage them to dump products below cost to drive their competition out of business to purchase their naming rights to fool gullible consumers. Well, they've already done that a few times.
