Anyone has any recommendations on getting these or not? I guess if you are leasing then it's obviously no. I'm planning on buying and keeping it for 6-8 years.

If you plan on keeping the car for 8 years it's not a bad deal as the work/parts are at a discounted rate and in todays dollars.
However, of you do the work yourself or have a mom and pops shop do it it's cheaper but not OEM warranty work. The play would be is to see if you can't get a discount on it when buying. Also the biggest thing is to ensure you actually use it for everything it covers over the 8yr period. I will always on a lease upgrade the 36th month package to include brakes as you can kill them in a track session or lots of aggressive street work, in an suv tow. The price is way less than the cash price for a full brake job so it's a win. Last edited by DocWeatherington; 12-07-2024 at 04:54 AM.. |

If you are deciding on the extended ultimate care+ packages, since you said you will be owning the car for an extended time, then I would weigh the costs of a brake job and other schedule maintenance vs. the cost of the ultimate care extended packages. Possibly it makes sense then? You also don't need to make a decision now, you can opt for it down the road. I pulled the below off bmw site. (Confirm with your dealer as well) Extend your coverage: ▪ Extend BMW Ultimate Care+ 1, 2, 3, or 4 additional years or 89,000 miles for a total of up to 125,000 miles (3 years for Model year 2016 and older). As an owner or lessee of a new BMW, you can decide to add this coverage at any point before your BMW reaches the end of its current coverage. Also, if you want some additional insight on this topic, I found a thread that discusses this in length: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2089753 As Doc mentioned in the response above, the cost of the ultimate care packages can be negotiated, so don't pay full price for them. Good luck!
