We have a post break-in G90 ///M5 on the dyno from KiesMotorsports, posting 678whp at 5,480rpm and 723wtq at 2,370rpm.

If I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was an EV. It is almost silent. I know it's an easy fix,but the fact that you have to jeopardize your warranty and spend $5k+ on a exhaust after spending $130k+ on a High performance car to make it not sound like vacuum cleaner, should upset everyone.

A cat back exhaust system does nothing to compromise warranty coverage. If you leave the cats on and stick with the stock DME software/tune, you're still covered.

So, @ stock,...the wheels are seeing 94.3% of stated Hp of 717hp and 97.8% of stated Torque of 738FtLbs! This is crazy,...the stock Hp and Torque at the crank is wayyyy up there!

I think the strigent EU regulations are really to blame. They are not allowed to make NA V8 and V10 ‘s due to pollution or they face steep penalties.
So the BMW did the best they could by keeping an 8 cylinder by adding a hybrid


Unfortunately weight gain and horrible sounding car is the price to pay
At least they didn’t make it a 6 cylinder, or a 4 banger like the Merc did with the C class.

Just to be clear, this is not my car. I saw this video on YouTube and thought it was worth sharing.

From what I’ve seen in another automotive channel, this car and the F90 were very close in a 1/4 mile race, with the G90 narrowly winning.

The roll race on the other hand was oddly much different. The G90 won very impressively. I believe the hybrid battery helps it greatly there.

I’m personally a fan of the wagon and I’m looking to grab one once they hit the used market and come down slightly in price. I can see the hybrid being useful for me in a number of ways and overall I like the styling.

Each M5 is beautiful to me in their own ways, but if it’s a Sunday and I can drive any car for that single day, I’m taking the V10 M6 with a manual and a soft top convertible. Something about having the roof down with a manual and a V10 sounds like a lovely day to me.

i only say speed at the end of the 1/4 because it's really the best indicator of how power to weight works in the car... dyno just gives numbers often which aren't comparable...

i'd be curious to see a G90 run back to back w an F90 comp using dragy and showing us 1/4 mile time and speed... both stock of course and in decent weather

the half mile roll races are weird because most people just won't run their cars that way... the throttle house roll was ran w a base F90 that almost no one bought in later years and likely that run showed no advantage to either car until 120 mph... not sure how truly relevant that is to everyone here

why not 30%? or 40%? the sky is the limit!

what dyno do they run and do they state the DA? those two variables are huge.

the parasitic loss for this car should be between 10-15%.

In the US you don't jeopardize your warranty for an axle back exhaust.

This isn’t a claim. It’s factual. Just ask any EU member here, or do some Google work on the EU emission regulations. The OPF was introduced in 2018, in addition. Fortunately (well, depending where you live), US cars are not restricted by this.
