I’ll bite. NE TN (near Morristown). About 35f now. About 2200 sq ft finished now with a 5 T heat pump serving it adequately. Struggles a bit on the below 20f days, seems to do fine on the over 95f days.
Getting ready to finish the rest of the basement (walk out, 2-1/2 walls in the hill). Thinking of adding a second 1.5 - 2T unit for the new sq ft (1100 new) and also pick up the existing basement finished sq ft (250 sq ft ish) from the big unit. Insulating walls. House is pretty well insulated upstairs walls and attics already. Thoughts? |

As far as the basement, I would assume you have a moisture/humidity issue at times esp in the summer. A nice multi zone 24k Mitsubishi mini split at 23 SEER and hyper heat would be a affordable and good fit |

Well, got nuthin' AC related, but
just wanted to say "Hey" to a Jupiter person- I grew up there back when the beach was still a cool place to hang out- "double roads" will put a time frame around it nicely

What’s your experience with conditioning attached garages?
I have insulated walls but haven’t yet insulated the ceiling (want to make sure I don’t want to make changes to lights first). I plan to do something for insulating the overhead doors (no windows), just not sure what. I’d have to go back to the plans from when I built the house, but it’s roughly 1000 sqft with 10’ or so ceilings and it has seven 3060 windows. Located in North Georgia in the Blue Ridge foothills. What would be the right minisplit of choice? I’ve been looking at these DIY Mr Cool’s. The Mitsubishi looks great of course. |

Do you reccomend vinegar & very hot water or the stuff they sell on Amazon to keep the line unclogged while running system often? We keep ours at 69 overnight in the summer in cntrl FL. Also, what MERV rating do you reccomend for filters how often do you change yours? Lastly - how important and or often do you have your AC ducts cleaned? Merry Christmas!
