Glad I’m not the only one who thinks that. Even though it’s heavy it still has a V8, and it’s very fast which is what an M5 is supposed to be.

Does anyone knows if g90 or g99 can be tuned to unlock the full v8 engine power. It’s outputting like 150hp less than it’s capable of!?

BMW has plenty of options for people who don’t want a heavy powerhouse of a car, not sure why this 800+ stock horsepower v8 needed to be sub 2000 pounds.
Also it looks pretty too, I’m not sure where the visual hate comes from either!

I’m pretty sure that’s because of the transmission. I think it’s maxed out on what it’s capable of handling torque wise with the full power. I could be wrong but that’s what I remember.

Exactly. I’ve also loved the design from Day 1 as it’s very agressive and wide. In my opinion, side by side, it makes the F90 look more like an M lite than an M car because of how wide it is.

It's not heavy for a plug-in hybrid V8. You can complain about why they turned the M5 into a plug-in hybrid, but don't complain about the weight.

I still think that’s a silly complaint. They did it so it would be fast as fuck, and the v8 still screams. It’s genuinely the best of all worlds.

When you increase power by ~~25% and weight by ~~25%, you end up with just about a 0 sum.

1100 pounds used to be the difference between a car and a truck. Now it's just a model year distinguisher.

It looks fast, but so is the Shinkansen. So are those jet engine powered trucks at airshows. Doesnt mean it's not insanely heavy.

It's not meant to be a corner-carving track car, it's a powerful German Autobahn cruiser. As such, it fulfills its duties perfectly. If you want something more agile, go for an M2, M3, or M4.
