M5 G90 Mods Underway

Hello Everyone, still in the drive in period of the car and half way there. Can’t wait to feel out the full pontetipa of this beast!

Already ordered Evolution Raceworks Secondary Downpipes and RK Tunes cold air intakes. Still thinking about H&R Lowering Springs as my mechanic is talking me out of it for some unknown to me reason.

Couldn’t find proper wheel spacers as of today.

Got the car on the lift today and started to talk about deleting the mid section of the exhaust and welding in an X-pipe. Don’t like spending thousands of $ on full exhaust systems.

I know someone who installed both primary and secondary down pipes with O2 spacers to prevent check engine light, all seems good so far.

That’s all I know as of now for the performance mods for the new M5.

Curios to hear other fellow owners mods and/or ideas.

Cheers!

I don’t think the secondary cat alone will fix the problem, so I will be probably doing an x-pipe + putting bigger exhaust tips.

Received the Evolution Works secondary downpipes from r33_RGSport today, waiting on the RK tunes front mounted air intakes. Did my break-in service on Wednesday. This car is a missile. The extra weight is definitely making the car feel much more powerful.

Can't confirm for the G90 but older BMW's do not monitor the secondary cats at least in the US cars.

While waiting for the X-pipe and the cold air intake. Installed a carbon fiber antenna. Looks more complete this way.

I took measurement with the shop today and ordered 2 on Amazon and see which one fits better and I will let you know if interested
While checking the car the mechanic spotted something I did not like
The front lower bracket has few places of welding and the welding in the middle is cracked
I will let the guys doing my break in service check it

I have not seems a crack on mine! But will check again and circulate back. Yes let us know please about the X-pipe, still trying to figure this part out. I believe it’s a 3 inch diameter.

Yes it is 3 inch for diameter and the distance between the middle of the 2 pipes is 4 inch approximately

Planing to do the Xpipe front resonator and straight pipe back one and keep original muffler and downpipes
All after breaking in service on the 20
Will post video of the exhaust before and after the mod hopefully it will help people decide

Similar here, secondary downpipes, both middle resonators replace for an X-pipe and stick muffler. Great minds think alike!

Cold air intake should also help with the sound a bit.

Hehe awesome
I already have drop in bmc filter in place
Could not wait so changed the oem filter the second today I got the car (DIY)
No added sound but let the car breath better
I am waiting for dinan to release something
I am a fan of closed intake systems and I think they perform better this is why I kept the oem boxes and changed the filters only

Allegedly Eventuri is making one now, but I didn’t want to wait so ordered RK Tunes front mounted. Maybe will change them out later.

Yes the rk tunes sounds really good and the only option right now
Enjoy it and then sell it and get the eventuri one but it will be probably 3 times the price
I just can't wait to modify the exhaust and I am hoping no drone and the sound will be OK and stay deep and throaty and not too raspy so will give the car the muscular sound it deserve
