Is it accurate to say that nothing has changed between the MY2025 and MY2026 G90, other than the two new leather selections? Did I overlook anything?

I have a Touring with a March production date, I wonder if it will be a 2026.

It looks like the driver assistance package may have some more items in it.

Curious about this as well…my touring is a May production…

No ordering/pricing guides for the Touring which suggests production runs through June

I wonder what the reasoning is behind starting the MY2026 SOP for the G90 in March, versus later in 2025.

There's been some weird SOPs. Within the i5 range, the i5 xDrive40 was a MY25 while others were MY24 until July 2024

So BMW announces the car in June .. starts production in August .. First customers receive their cars in December .. only for BMW to start production of 26MY 3 months later..
So a 25MY M5 will probably be counted as an older model in June 2025 because 26MY is out..
There's something seriously wrong going on at BMW. Either they are not sure of what they're doing or they are trying to fix something, or even worse, they rushed the M5 so much that they're trying to rectify whatever they can.

When do you guys think the competition is coming out? I am thinking about just waiting for that before pulling the trigger on the car.

From what I heard there will be no comp. model, HOWEVER, there will be a CS model coming with the LCI in 2027/2028.

Actually probably has to do with the production cycle of the 5 series sedan in general. The 2026 normally start production in july/June.

So since no change why not pull it ahead 3 months to 26 and get it on the same cycle as the base 5 series sedan.

Plus side will be come June when 26s start arriving the 25s will get more incentives, discounts to be moved if any are left.

The m cars first, second model year is always funky and out of wack based upon its base platform.

The wagon is weird as no base version in NA and it's production cycle was delayed off the sedan.

The priority 1 leather options do not say "full" in the ordering or pricing guide. Despite some comments in another thread, I am still convinced they won't cover more of the interior than the other merino options. They are a NC option as well, which reinforces my thinking. So, no major changes to the M5's equipment list and the car is still missing a full leather option that some have speculated would come in the new model year. Strange decisions from BMW on this car IMO.

There will be no full leather at all for G90. The new leather options are just colors.

Makes sense, this interior doesn’t need full leather, it’s for higher quality soft touch stuff that’s very premium feeling.

I've said this multiple times, but encountered many in the forums who have said "its a $130K car, of course full leather is coming at some point. BMW hasn't lost their minds!"

I've never seen BMW release a top M car and then add an extended or full leather option later in its life cycle, so I have pushed back on it. We will see!

It would be fun if they made the CS all combustion producing 750hp, the reduced weight without the battery pack and electric motor would make it a pretty fun driving machine.

The two new upholstery options seem interesting. Would like to see the deep violet/black combo.

Or even a electric motor only for the turbos, similar to what Porsche did with the 911. This would provide the instant torque without the significant weight increase. It will be interesting to see how the G90 progresses through it life cycle and if any significant changes to the drivetrain occurs when the H90 is developed.

The idea certainly is interesting though I don’t feel that they would make such a large revision on the S68 for this chassis. We will probably see it manifest in the H90 (or whatever they call that chassis).

Although thinking back to the LCI F95/6 and the change to its version of the S68 from the pre LCI S63, we’ll probably get a better picture when the next iteration of the X5/6M is developing

I think BMW has said the only way the V8 M5 could survive was to be a PHEV.
