Really the only review that matters. I'm curious to see his take after more track time and time to digest.
Bmw has the potential for a very proper M5 with tweaks and hopefully they address them all over the cars lifestyle. A betting man says bmw needs and should launch a comp based upon this review. I bet the tires are the culprit and bmw knows it lol. Last edited by DocWeatherington; 01-05-2025 at 05:32 PM.. |

So he thinks it feels more like a M7, that's a positive in my book
Thinks it's a easy buy over the RS6, struggled to name alternatives to it other then a Bentley (would've been cool to get a model name there mr. car reviewer), strangely didn't mention the panamera at all. thinks interior could be nicer, pretty common observation. The all black spec didn't help that. pretty much what I expected from Chris, he's a purist at heart so this spaceship was always going to test his impartiality. I bet if you put michelins on that thing and gave him some good dry roads he'd come away with a different impression, those uk roads look horrid for testing a car like this. |

Funny BMW is like no track laps..they may know those tires suck, or maybe even be equipped with winters |

Nice review, I think the fact he says he likes it a lot and it’s growing on him pretty much sums it up.

Yes. Calling it more like M7 sums it up even more. Those pointing out lack of soft close doors suddenly start making sense.

I like when people who probably never drove one and maybe never saw one and not planning or maybe can not afford to buy one just come to the M5 thread to talk shit about the new M5
Same happened with the M3 when it came out and everyone called it the new M5 because of added weight and x drive not talking about the look and the old M5 f90 when people talked shit about the X drive and it is not an M5 if not rwd Look now lol |

His assessment is the same as mine. I concur with everything. I have done close to a 1000miles as well in the new G90 M5.
Its not an M5 in the sense of the previous ones but its a good car |

That is my gripe with the car. They made the M5 more liveable and practical, and far more luxurious (in terms of ride comfort and noise) then they ruin some side of that experience by cheaping out on finish and features like soft close doors, no full leather

It is just a new driving experience I also drove mine 800 miles so far and can say the same Again I would have paid for all the whistle and bells if they gave me the options and I think most of m5 owners would have done so The question is why they did not offer those extras as options?! |

Agree on the M3 it is not engaging but capable I think the same with all bmws these days Go drive one and you will be surprised that it does not feel heavy as you may think Regarding cars sitting at the dealer I think some of them asking for markup and the other part is the look is controversial and not everyone likes the look as well as the numbers on papers for this car does not attract people And I think a lot of people are waiting for these cars to be discounted to go buy them given leases are still high given no incentives |

He expressed my sentiments exactly: A very nice, very capable, very good looking, very comfortable, very fast, car for every day. And it happens to be a BMW. Good enough for me and it's why I'm considering adding it to the stable.

I am buying one too, although I am trying to keep my F90 M5 CP. To me the F90 is the "last M5" in the sense of driver engagement, dynamics. The new G90, is an awesome car, but I wholeheartedly agree with Chris Harris, its not an M5. Its too big, feels heavy and its far more insulated from the experience then any previous M5.

😂😂😂 This is kind of sad, that the M5 is going out like this. It seems Chris has lost hope and is just like welp, take it for what it is. “But the tailpipes are real, in this day in age, we should celebrate that shouldnt we?” His facial expressions throughout the video and at the end tell the real story.
