IND | G90 / G99 M5 Wheel Spacer Recommendations and Comprehensive Wheel Specs
With the release of the new G90 and G99 M5, we wanted to reduce the amount of guess work and time researching to see what spacer sizing is recommended, so we went ahead and tested all the options for you with our latest G90 M5 spacer prototypes.
As we've done for each new M car release, but also considering the confusion and early misinformation regarding the new M5's wheel specs, we set out to create a comprehensive resource for new G90/G99 M5 owners looking for spacer and wheel fitment. G9X M5 Bolt Pattern and Style 951M Wheel Specs
With BMW introducing a brand-new bolt pattern for the G90 M5, IND immediately contacted our longtime partner Fall-Line to get to work on a bespoke spacer designed specifically for the G9X platform and potential future models. Our collaboration ensures that this spacer is engineered to the highest standards, considering both performance and compatibility. Additionally, the same renowned characteristics found in the FC spacers—such as precision machined pocketing, hub-centric design, and secure hub-mounting provisions—will carry over into the G9X M5 spacer to maintain the level of excellence you expect. Spacers are similar to aftermarket wheels with regard to opinions; everyone has different preferences and tolerances. At IND, our goal is to achieve a wheel and tire fitment that is flush to the edge of the fender with minimal poke which we feel is best achieved with 12mm spacers front and rear. However, for the G90, it may also be helpful to factor in the type of tires your vehicle came equipped with when trying to achieve a specific look, though the difference is slight. The IND G90 M5 came with Hankook tires from the factory. All Front and Rear Fitments: 5mm Front and Rear: 12mm Front and Rear: 15mm Front and Rear: 18mm Front and Rear: Last edited by IND-Distribution; Yesterday at 12:52 PM.. |

Amazing info. Thank you so much for doing the research and for making the information public.
It looks like the sweet spot in order not to go past flush would be 15 front 12 rear, but I wonder if that difference is enough to confuse the ECU's AWD calculations to throw a code. If you think it won't then that's what I'll order, otherwise if we need to be symmetrical then I'll do 12 all around. Thanks again.

We have springs going on the car as we speak to test that idea of 15 F / 12 R. Once lowered, we think this might be the best setup; time will tell. |

Amazing post! Thank you IND-Distribution
As I’m looking at the pictures, I keep asking myself why would BMW decide to ruin the visual appeal of the car with such tall front wheel sidewalls. They’re literally taller than on my X5 M60i stock 21” winter wheels… Hence the question what chances do you see for options to fit 21” wheels upfront? Could the car be run on a square 295/35/21 set of tires?

Since the wheels are the same offset and only 1/2" wider out back, that means they'll only lessen inner strut clearance and outer fender clearance by 1/4" vs the OE front 20x10.5's. Considering the 12mm front spacer is wider than 1/4", the fender clearance isn't an issue, so we'd just need to check strut clearance and liner clearance when turning.
