Remote Start From Key Fob
I hit the BMW logo on the key fob 3x as it states and I don't think it does anything. The lights flash as if the car is being unlocked but the DRLs don't stay on or anything as if the e-motor is turned on to heat/cool the cabin. How are you supposed to even know that it worked?

Do you know if the battery operated preconditioning will heat or cool the vehicle?. Im not sure how the cooling works without the ICE running the AC compressor.

I can’t say for certain if the vehicle is unplugged but definitely if it is plugged-in, the cabin is heated or cooled as you prefer. The PHEV battery is also warmed for use.

From the manual, you can enable pre-conditioning with the key. You must push the lock button three times within one second. There must also be sufficient charge in the battery or the car must be plugged in.

Pre conditioning also work when unplugged. I never charge mine at home but i have a preconditioning schedule to go to work (where i charge) and it works fine, but when it's cold like these days, the range take a massive hit, defrosting and warming up the cabin takes quite a few of those kW .
