Useless setting in G90 M5

As far as I'm concerned, this is the most useless setting in the G90. Selecting the m mode doesn't actually change the hud display, and everything the car restarts, the setting resets. Anyone have any idea what this setting does?

It is not useless
In road vs sport or track it changes the main display in frint of the driver to a different looking one more sporty looking
But the most important feature is the decrease in driving assistance setting in sport and it turns off all driving assistance in track mode
So you get less or None of the annoying trigger warning that you are going to hit the other car or those stupid safety warnings when driving fast .....

I understand the difference. I am saying when i change this setting in the instrument cluster setting, nothing happens and nothing gets saved. It always defaults to road.

There is no saving the preference. Default is road. Changing the M Mode will change the displays and safety settings for that session in the car.

Yes unfortunately it always default to road like many other bmw options like driving setup and hybrid mode (except you can always setup the car to start and stay in fully electric mode)
