Euro Delivery vs Import Tariffs?
I wonder if BMW reinstated Euro Deliveries (discontinued during Covid), if it would be able to side-step the 25% Import Tariff on "new" vehicles? (I'm not sure how the tariffs are worded...)
IOW: Could an E.D. delivered vehicle be considered a "used" vehicle and then not subject to the 25% Import Tax? Euro Deliveries were always a good bargain. If they could be used to side-step the import tariffs it would be an interesting feature if reinstated. Germany/Europe gets increased tourism, customers save substantially on the cost of a car and get a nice vacation to boot... Bring back the Euro Delivery!

It is a good thought, but unless something changed, I am pretty sure you would have to keep it there for at least 6 months. I brought an E63s Wagon back to the U.S. a few years ago - taxes, and customs, duty free, but I had owned it there for about a yr. I was scared it would not work or there would be some type of catch, but it worked. |

Yes, and come to think of it, I think it was my military status that allowed for this exemption when living over there for a period. Sorry for any confusion.
