Painted Reflector Installation Instructions
Doesn’t anyone have instructions for how to remove and install painted reflectors for US cars?
In the Audi/Porsche world you can subscribe to factory service manuals for as little as a few days. Is there something similar for BMW? |

Which ones are the rear side markers? The front ones were pretty easy—I just turned the wheels to one side, took out 3 or 4 screws from the wheel well liner, hit the markers with a heat gun for like 15–30 seconds, then gently pushed from the outside and used a trim tool on the inside. You can’t really get to the top part easily, but sliding the new markers in is no problem.
The rears, no idea, I didn't want to take off the rear bumper. I saw someone mention that they just drilled a screwed and pulled out the old rear reflectors. Hopefully Lamin-X comes out with a pre-cut tint film to darken them up a bit. |

The touring has markers on the rears sides similar to the front. I am not talking about the red reflectors in the rear bumper. Only the orange ones on the side. The sedan has one on each side in the front and the touring has two on each said (front and back).

you ideally use a heat gun around the outside of the reflectors to soften up the 3M tape that's on the other side.
Then you kinda push the reflector in while supporting the bumper, can also use the soft plastic tools to pry it out either way you have to separate it from the inside of the bumper then pull it out, clean off any big hunks of tape left behind on the inside with the plastic tools or a flathead screwdriver then slide the new ones in |
