7 Series 407HP V8 Twin Turbo
I am reading BMWCar magazine they have an article on the new 7 Series the 740i has 326HP 6 cyl Twin Turbo and the 750i has a 407HP V8 Twin Turbo. Wait till DINAN get a hold of those engines, I would amagine the M3 will get the V8 Turbo WOW, but with the new engine I wonder if BMW will have a new ECU with no piggy backs?

Agree and I predicted the same several months back when I 1st heard of this new V8 TT - ie: BMW will put it in a future M3...
I think this would make lots of sense as the current M3 good as it is - is getting left behind by many rivals and its own siblings, ala 135i  a V8 TT starting at least with 300+kw and at least 550nm would be an excellent adoption for the M3, those power levels ballooning by at least 20-25% after some basic tuning - that sounds more like it for an M3, compared to its current state... Regardless of ecu type and tune, there will always be a way around them and with hi-po cars it's always just a matter of time for tuning options to become available  |
