Feel like they’re messing up a good thing, just as it was reintroduced to US market and selling like hotcakes … why?

It gives an overall lower appearance IMO with the current one kind of looking like an X5 with how “High” the Front looks.

Looking closer, the render requires lowering the leading edge of the hood. Not gonna happen… too much substructure, pedestrian crash implications. LCI is cosmetic only.

I like it, but I thought it was supposed to get the NK front end?

Another fantasy render.
As stated already, LCI doesn’t include sheet metal changes and this one is different from any angle. The only extensive LCI change I know of was the Mercedes W212 E-class as the design language changed and MB spent a fortune on the re-tooling. Last edited by Wolfman64; 01-06-2026 at 08:11 AM.. |

I read somewhere here that it is going to be one of the costlier ones for BMW What would they invest so much if no sheet metal changes are planned?

So skytop design will be available for much lower cost or maybe someone just photoshopped skytop’s front end on M5.
The latter is the more likely scenario. ![]()

I do not think front will look like as rendered. It will be more like a new class 3 series. The render is not close to what to expect.

That render needs SUV sized tires to make it more realistic.
Still amazed that the M5 has a taller tire than our X5 with 21s..
