First Set of True BBS FI-R 21" Wheels for the G9X M5 in North America

While some of you may have seen “FI-R” wheels installed on the new G90 or G99 M5 already, those have mostly been other FI-R variants that were modified to fit the new M5 platform.

Late last week we received what should be the first true G9X-specific BBS FI-R wheel set to land in North America, air shipped directly from BBS Germany for our G99 M5 Touring build. The car will be on display at Bimmer Invasion Florida in early April.

On top of that, this set is also the only one currently produced by BBS in the Ceramica finish. Ceramica is a ceramic-reinforced paint finish applied over the forged aluminum wheel. The coating incorporates ceramic particles within the paint system to increase surface hardness, improve durability, and better resist heat and brake dust. The finish is typically seen on special motorsport-inspired applications and gives the wheel a very unique look in person.
We’re excited to get these mounted on the Touring.

Tire setup will be:
Michelin Pilot Sport 5S
Front: 295/35/21
Rear: 315/35/21

Wheel specs:
• Front: 21 x 11 ET20 – 5x132 (FI-R 165)
• Rear: 21 x 11.5 ET21 – 5x132 (FI-R 166)

We have a G90 and G99 so we can take photos installed on both M5's.

BBS Japan is world class.

IND is a solid shop too. They replaced my Eisenmann Race Black that had a coating issue with new under warranty.

I have a question: is this installed using the **original bolt pattern**, or does it use some kind of **adapter**?

The bolt pattern on the **G90 M5** is **5×132**. I asked the **BBS Germany official website**, and they said it uses an adapter:

> *Our Unlimited System works exclusively with adapters that adjust the bolt circle from 5x117.5 to 5×132.
> We do not have a fixed-bored (direct-fit) wheel in 5×132 in our product range.*

These are a bolt-on application, no redrilling, no adapters

Is a 20-inch front wheel option available? Changing the size is illegal in some countries.
