The sound of power: The Exhaust Suite for the G90 M5 and G99 M5 Touring brings two distinct personalities to one platform: a bespoke H-pipe, straight-through flow, and a tone that finally does justice to the S68’s potential. Engineered from dual 3” and 2.5” U.S-sourced T304L stainless steel and machined to precise tolerances, both editions begin where the factory system runs out of ideas. The Touring Edition is primarily formed from 3” (with two short 2.5” sections in the rear) T304L stainless steel, built around AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology® that eliminates the frequencies responsible for highway fatigue across the entire RPM range. The result is an exhaust that sounds exceptional on a Sunday blast and doesn’t punish you on a Monday commute. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() At 19 lbs lighter than stock, the Touring Edition sharpens the M5’s responses without sacrificing a single decibel of road manners. Dyno-verified gains of +11 hp and +12 lb-ft of torque at the wheels mean every drop of the hammer is backed up by real performance. This is the exhaust that checks all the boxes for the G9X. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Track Edition: No filters. No compromises. Full 3”. The Track Edition is the full, uncut expression of what the S68 wants to say. For that reason, this particular version cannot be returned due to sound preference. Prepare yourself. ![]() ![]() ![]() Why an H instead of an X? The Touring and Track Edition Exhausts, as all our exhaust systems, were engineered primarily for the driver, not the bystander. The G9X isn’t a thin-skinned, high-strung exotic. It’s a big, torque-heavy, ground-pounding German muscle car with thick cabin insulation and a battery pack along the floor. X-pipes, with the higher frequency exhaust tones that they produce, simply don’t cut through all the materials in the way. The interior sound levels with X-pipe variants were rather unsatisfying, indistinguishable from stock in our testing. AWE builds for actual outcome, not expectation, and we will iterate until we get it right. The H-pipe, produced a deep, rich, more satisfying soundtrack that most importantly: can be heard behind the wheel. The takeaway is simple: while the X-pipe variants had some appeal from outside the car, they never created enough separation from the factory experience once you were in the driver’s seat. The H-pipe configuration delivers both: a more rewarding soundtrack when behind the wheel, and the proper presence outside the car. Let’s talk tips: All tip options include the AWE logo and double-walling to ensure a mirror finish even under hard usage. We went through a few prototypes with an X and just weren't satisfied with the sound profile inside the cabin. The lower tones produced by an H-pipe have more "punch" and can push through, allowing a much more pleasing experience for the driver. Finally, we verified very acceptable power gains with the H. We have our own chassis dyno in-house and our engineers develop for power, as well as for a great soundtrack.

Wow... i'll admit that sounds better than most exhaust out there!
I'm intrigued. Would you think if i ordered a track edition exhaust today it would arrive to NJ by Thursday afternoon before my Friday exhaust install appointment? lol
