yeah, you drive properly on the highway and you can get stellar mpg with a bigger car (especially our autobahn cruisers). I've seen 30 mpg average at 75mph on long trips on the highway in my E38 (600 miles on 20 gallons. Whoo hoo!)

Most cars crusing along at 60-65 mph will get decent MPG. My IS-F cruising at 60-65 in 8th gear for 45 miles (on the way to the dragstrip) gets me usually somewhere between 30-31.5 mpg. Cruising along at 45 mph gives even better MPG (the very very beginning of 8th gear). That's with the AC on and music going. BUT driving smoothly and not going nuts. Once I hit the track, it's another story. My cheap old Camry LE 4 cylinder used to get 36 mpg going 72 mph. I could drive from the NW suburb of chicago to Boston on 1 1/2 tank of gas!!

I did a drive to St. George Island and back to Tallahassee a few months ago and got 35.1mpg over the whole trip.
