Question Who Likes The Audi A3?

Who here likes the Audi A3 "sports hatch?"

Would you consider buying one?

Thumbs down

Doesn't do anything for me.

And I may never get used to that new grille.

Looks okay, but not stunning. I thought about a 3.2 quattro with DSG instead of a 325 but it was only a thought

I place it in the same category as the MB C-class hatchback.

The absolute lowest model that can be offered so somone can say, "I own a _____."

This is the main reason why I truly hope BMW does not introduce the 1 series in the US.

Actually, the 3 door version would've been way more interesting/attractive, particualrly the S version.

I think your view is a little ignorant. The S3 is a great car and has all the build quality etc.. that Audi is famous for. Remember that it is only in the USA that smaller cars are looked down on

Ya,.. same here. If it wasn't for the fact that the 3.2 DSG quattro didn't exist when I bought my car, it may have been a closer race. A year later, I'm so completely thrilled with my e90, that the thought of having chosen another car is nearly unbelievable. Almost as unbelievable as the torque steer from the 2.0 front-trac A3 I test drove for a lark.

Speaking a little too fast considering you own a 3-series, the lowest of all BMWs, eh?

But back on topic - the A3 is pretty bad because it's much smaller in the inside. I would rather get the A4 for all intents and purposes over the A3 considering the savings you get from the A3 really isn't much.

It's an awesome little car, very fun to drive especially for a FWD. I've never driven the Quattro. It's not as luxurious as the 3 series but it is cheaper.

We see them a lot here. I've had the former A3 TDI and the S3. Still love the design. New Sportback with 18" alloys:

But the ride...

i was actually going to buy a loaded A3, every single package was on the car, but the car felt really slow when i test drove it. so now i got a BMW , not fast but a lot nicer than the Audi.

I tend to like Audi in general but have heard a lot of crap about it breakin down all the time. So now I try to stay away from them. BUt I have to admit some of their cars look nice.

I like it but its a rip off price wise plus you cant get a stick with the 3.2 which is the main reason I would never buy it. Yes I have driven the DSG and I still do not want it.

I had brand spanking new one as a rental in Germany last summer. It was a 2.0t sport model 6 sp. I thought it was a great car. In replacing the discovery, due to gas consumption, I wound up going with the A4, since they didn't have the 3.2 quattro out yet. Now that they do, I'm still glad I went with the A4, looking at the prices they are asking for a A3 3.2 quattro. You could get a 330xi for the same.
