Exclamation PLEASE dont drive drunk and tired- lost a friend (semi-graphic)

I lost a good friend and employee early saturday morning. He was a good kid and he will be missed. Im sending out this message to hopefully make people think twice about driving drunk or very tired. I think he fell asleep and most likely floored it and went off the road. Quite possibly one of the worst accidents Ive seen.Horrible. My prayers go out to him and his family. Such a tragedy. Please dont drink and drive.

May he rest in peace. I heard about this as I was down the Cape over the weekend. Very sad.

There but for the grace of God go I. For the past 25 years or so I've been smart enough not to drive after drinking, but in my youth, I was as dumb as they come. I guess I was lucky.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Tough to lose a friend that way.

It's always difficult to lose a friend or family member; unfortunately we all think we're invisible and all it takes is one day to become the the extreme. I'm sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you.

Hopefully we will all slow down & think twice about what we're doing.

RIP.

But seriously, this stuff is fucking scary. A few weeks ago I was driving ~320 miles from home back to university, and I left at like 11:30pm. I'm not allowed to speed (just got a ticket recently) and so I was going 70 the whole way. At that speed shit is fucking boring, so bloody slow.

I caught my self a few times. You know like when your head drops down (for a millisecond) and you're like "Oh shit!" and then you wake up for a bit. Well any ways that happened a couple times and I was like, I better be careful. So I'd drop the window for a bit and wake up some.

About an hour away from my destination (4/5 hrs of the drive) I am concentrating quite hard on the road and staying at the limit of 70. Somehow, I dunno how it happened, my eyes close and my head just drops down into my chest. I wake up maybe 2 seconds later? The whole trip no one was near me. But when I opened my eyes there was this huge pickup truck next to me in the left lane and I feel myself drifting towards it. So as soon as my eyes opened I was like "OH FUUUUCK!" and then I jerked the steering wheel to the right, and was perfectly fine.

I was like okay, that was scary, fuck this. I dropped my windows, turned the music up really loud, and sped all the way to my apartment.

I am never driving tired again. Oh and to top it all off, at one point my contact dried up and fell outta my eye. That fkn sucked, I pulled over at a rest stop and had some extras thankfully.

It really hurts to see this kind of stuff and I really can understand what it's like to be in your situation because I have been through it. Also, on my way home just an hour or two ago, the opposite two lanes were blocked because EMS was doing CPR/resuscitating a person next to the T-boned car she was in

To everyone: If anything, don't should be afraid to tell your family "I love you" because it could be your last opportunity to do so. If you don't tell them that one time you should have, you will regret it the rest of your life

I was thinking about doing that, but it's kinda scary to just pull over in one of those rest areas and just sleep in your car. Too many fucked up people out there. I can only imagine the possibilities of things happening.
