I have a Nikon D70s.

I prefer Canon performance and colours and their lenses, but Nikon's are second best for SLRs.

its rather a common problem with nikkor lenses. one of the little screws that holds the zoom piece was loose and zoom got stuck in a middle.

i took the lens apart, fixed the screw, but now i can't re-assemble the last piece where you have to plug little cables inside the lens....

Got my D90 in February and lovin it.

As for second best, not according to several magazine reviews here in the UK. The D90 is whooping the 450D on many levels. Canon have now launched the more expensive (than D90) 500D to compete.

Looking at several comparisons the D90's picture performance is on par with the more expensive D300/700 due to its sensor. I know its not for everyone but the video mode is handy. Clearly not up to my Sony HDV standard but nice for occaisional video capture.

you do realize that the D90 is more closely compared to the 40D. yes the 500D is coming out soon, and that will probably be better than both the 40D and the D90. comparing the 450D to the D90 is like sweet onions to spanish onioins. close but not really.
