For Sale etiquette

When somebody responds to a For Sale item with "dibs, ready to paypal right now, send me your paypal email", how long do I wait until I sell it to the next buyer.

I haven't heard anything from the guy in 2 days despite to my PMs back to him.

Thanks

In my opinion, it's completely up to you. Two days seems more than fair of you to wait, considering you haven't heard a thing. If he really wanted it, they deal would be complete by now (or more communication would be happening).

dont wait at all...
first person with cash in your hands gets it.
i have sold lots of things over time and i've noticed lots of people say they will buy your item, but not follow through.

dont waste your time waiting, move on.

Every individual and every situation creates it's own set of expectations and "rules of etiquette". For anything automotive that isn't an actual car, I would have already accepted the next buyer's payment. Just my 2 cents.

Check your PayPal account and make sure that he hasn't sucked all your money out of it.

Hah, luckily there's no money in it.

And thanks for the answers...I had pretty decided to move on, just wanted a sanity check.

30 minutes. If someone calls dibs and don't make an attempt to reply to my PM or email or whatever I would just move on. After the initial contact I would them 1 day. Otherwise it goes to the next seller.

No dibs. So many flakes on here, that it is crazy to wait. Just simply reply to all, that first person that paypals gets it. If you get 2 or more...just refund the others.
