What happened to the homepage?

Its an improvement from a news update/content presentation standpoint. Think Autoblog, Digg, or any other news/blogger site. Tiled categories at the top then lists of news posts. QED.

+1, its a nice effort, but it JDLR. Maybe it's an homage to the new 7 series.

yea i don't like it either, it looks like a 5$ template you can download from a website, the old one had a better design and looked better overall imho.
