It's an oldie but goodie.

With all the recent billboard one-up-man ship going on in the States between BMW and Audi this has to be the biggest one-up-man ship adverts of the lot. Though it's not that far from the truth.

DESIGN - Audi's designs are among the most stylist and arguably more stylist then the four brands used in this commercial.

COMFORT - Their ride quality wouldn't quite be as good as Mercedes but interior comfort is second to none.

SAFETY - All their performance cars include Quattro 4 wheel drive so no arguments there.

SPORTINESS - Well this final one is the one weak area of Audi, but recent products are showing signs of a promising new direction.

3 out of 4 ain't at all bad.

You're right. It's an old commercial but those 4 things hold true to what you've said. If they can get more sportiness in all of their S and RS line cars, they will be in solid shape.

If it IS banned, it's for the use of competitors logos on the key fobs. I recently saw a commercial showing the hood emblem of competitor vehicles, so I don't really see the difference. Anyhow, saying you're better than another company in some aspect is a sweeping, unfounded generalization.

I personally think Audi's feel uncommunicative and soft. I drove an S8 and detested the "feel" of it. I'd just given a friend with an S8 a ride in my Lotus in exchange for test driving his car... so maybe my ass, feet, and hands were numb from the bumps...

Seriously, how safe is 4 wheel drive when you bang it into a wall, safety is about crashsafety and your car not blowing up whilest driving it if you ask me, all the rest is up to the driver. And as you mention , their performance cars do have quattro, but they used to be FWD beneath the 140 hp mark (nowadays they've got AWD available on all obviously).

As mentioned above , jack of all, master of none is what i'd call em.

I like to compare audi to an iphone, it's The trendsetting beautiful designer phone, but if you know anything bout smartphones , you know it can only compete with phones that cost half as much as the iphone does. The apple makes it expensive , just as the four rings do imo.
