Decently fast car for under 5k?

So to make a long story short, my 2000 civic ex coupe is being dumb and is having way too many problems. I am having a hard time justifying keeping her when I know I can get a smaller/better/faster car.

What would some of you recommend?

I was thinking:
240SX
CRX w/ swap
silvia
300ZX

I want to keep my car, but I still have another 3k in mods I need before it will be as I like.
Rims+tires: 1,400
Springs: 400
Camber Plates
Anti-Roll bars
Plus i'm still planning on putting in a K20 in her.
As Mandy suggested my car will be named Special K.

I would look into a bike for speed thrills at that budget.
