Un-related to the story, but my friend was rear-ended in his RX-8 by an illegal immigrant with a stolen vehicle. As soon as he was rear ended, the guy who rear ended him opened the car door and fled.

It was by sheer luck that the police were not far away and saw the entire accident and spectacle.

Unfortunately, since the guy was illegal and had no insurance, my friend got little for his vehicle from his own insurance company. This may have been a blessing in disguise however, as he was unhappy with his RX-8 and is now happily driving a '98 Integra GS-R.

Down here it's always the illegals getting killed in single vehicle roll overs. Yesterday or the day before there was a Ford Excursion loaded with OVER 20 illegal immigrants that flipped. 10 died right there but they airlifted a bunch to a hospital in Tucson, wasting a crap load of our tax $$....

as for that statement... I'm not going to get too into this because it is pointless. THOSE Mexicans make the rest look bad. My dad came here illegally when he was 13 when my Grandfather passed away and he needed to take care of my Grandmother and his 7 younger siblings. (I know that's a lot of kids but my grandfather took care of them all before he passed on) my dad worked his ass off, never got in trouble with the law, got all his papers to become legal, and now he is a successfull man if I may say so myself. there are DUIs with deaths probably every day. the ones that are caused by illegals hit th news a lot harder because "They shoulnd't even be here" and I agree that if they aren't doing any good GTFO your ruining it for the rest.

Well good for your dad, but apparently you have not made a trip down to San Jose, California. There are a reported 1.1million people in this city. When in reality there are around 1.4million people in this city. 300k of them being illegals, half of those illegals are scumbags who steal, rob, break in to houses just to earn a living. So good for your dad, but still my statement stands.

I'm not telling you to take back your statement. The majority of them are that way and I hate to say it. Those are the people that I wish could stay in Mexico or whatever country they came from. i hate hearing stories like that. accidents are one thing, but DUI-related deaths piss me off as well. ive had a somewhat similar experience, but nothing on the same level. (not to thread-jack, btw)

i got into my first major accident due to a suspected illegal immigrant. i was on my way to class one afternoon when a hispanic looking woman in a late model suv cut me off completely, giving me no room or time to break. i t-boned her at about 30 mph. as soon as we hit and i gathered myself, got out of the car to find out she had fled the scene. i totaled my E36, injured my spine and had to go to physical therapy for a year or so. we never found the woman.

Lol@1989baby. I think you had it right though. It's only a "few" who are tying to progress and be successful.

Hate to bring this into the fray, but language/cultural pride is an issue here. I'm sure if many of the new immigrants would learn English, it would greatly soften tensions between those who have been here for a long time and those who are coming here legal or not. It's also on our government to stop accommodating Spanish only by making everything availabe in Spanish. Instead, the ACCOMODATION afforded to these people should be free or reduced cost English lessons. This would also weed out those "few" who are trying to be successful from those rotten eggs. For whatever reason, cultural pride on behalf of the immigrants, they refuse to become "Mexican-American" and remain, "Mexican" through and through.

In the end, if you truly have America's values and ideas at heart, I don't care what ethnicity you are, or where you came from; you're an American. But if you're an American citizen flying a Mexican flag a protest rally, then it's treason; especially if said citizen is also stomping on or burning the American flag.

When World War II was happening, and the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor, Japanese-Americans went out of their way to prove their "American-ness." Many were only second generation, but their English was already better than their Japanese language ability. Other immigrants to this country are similar. Post-Vietnam war immigrants speak some English and most, if not all, of their children do.

I had the unique opportunity to meet with a 7th generation Mexican-American who had made English her major. The driving force behind this major was that her mother and grandmother 6th and 7th generation Mexican-Americans didn't understand English.
