What the mother-eff? How on earth have they managed to extract 400 HP per liter... that does not make sense

Wow that is impressive. I would bet the engine is no where near stock and waaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive to throw into a regular Fiesta though!

F1 used to have 1400 hp 1.5 liter engines. Big ass turbos and engines made of unobtanium can get you those levels of power with no problems.

the V10 will be vastly less stressed and useable than a peaky small 4 cyl at the same levels of peak hp.

umm, I would not call a factory stock bottom end from a 1970's bmw 2002 unobtanium

top fuel cars have a 500 c.i. limit and make btw 7000 and 8000 hp. so thats nearly 1000 hp per litre (this is just off the top of my head, im too lazy to google search)

Umm, the M12 race engine had precious little in common with the M05 2 liter from the 2002, other than basic architecture, and the fact that both were derived from the M10 of 1961.

But the "unobtanium" comment was derived from an old article about the Ford BOSS 302 racing engines, that were not made of exotic materials, either, just parts that were not available OTC. It was meant slightly tongue-in-cheek.
