new job
just thought i would share, here's the story:
early 06 i decided to get a job so i could mod my 325i at that time, i tried to look for jobs on campus but availability was scarce..my friend's brother owns a restaurant so i decided to work for him, my friend helps out in the restaurant too.. employed 2/24/06, quit on 8/5/06...i worked as a dishwasher, $5.50/hr clean and i always work on weekends (fri: 5-10pm sat: 5-10pm but 11-10pm when i was on holiday sun: 11-5pm but 11-10pm on holidays as well)..not bad for the experience but my friends told me that the job was never worth it especially when my roomie worked in the library, mostly sittin there doin nothin and he got $5.75/hr but without tax..u do the math so i decided to quit..manual labor, no dishwashing machine, sink is kinda low that i had to bend down..after work, my back is always hurtin lol! plus i dont only wash dishes but help prepare food as well, peelin potato garlic shrimp etc etc. it was fun at first and boss said he's gonna raise my pay to 6 or 7 bucks but reality is it stayed the same..never hang out with my friends anymore since i started working coz i was always too tired to go clubbin or even watch movies..always got the kitchen/oil reek after i finish working ah i'm so filthy everytime i reach home anyway i applied for a houseman position at the hotel on campus this past friday morning, intervewed on saturday evening and it went smooth so now i got a new job with better pay $8/hr but not taxed yet. gonna start workin in 2 weeks and really lookin forward to it hooray for additional experience and more cash for future mods

but here's the creepy part, it got to the point where i had this nightmare once and i swear none of you will believe it in the dream i was washing the dishes like i normally would but somehow all of them started floatin around in a circle and some began to smash against me. so i ran and hide behind the bathroom door but then the every dish broke in half, slashed through the door and slashed me eventually i woke up sweating and the first thing i did was check if there was any blood and i had to go to work on that day too

funny you man. and congrats to the new job.
what's even funnier is that when people (like boss, supervisor...) would see you in your car for the first time and be like "huh, thats my dishwasher?" it took my co-workers more than a month before they saw my car cause i always tried to hide it from them (i parked all the way at the back of office). my boss is a licensed architect and drives a big diesel ford pick-up truck and i think after he saw my car he started using his cayenne to work. now his back to his pick-up after a few weeks. just thought i'd share. kinda funny.

here is a person who make minimum wages and drive an e90. It goes to show you that if you know how to manage your money, you can afford anything. There are ppl with salary job who are in serious debt and drive beat up car and complain how they cannot afford this or that.

Congrats on your new job. There is nothing wrong with working at a minium wage jobs because there are so many people out there that can't even do that because it is simply not good enough for them
