I got a job :D

I got a job at Victoria's Secret. My first real job, well I had a job when I was 15 for a month lol. I go in on Tuesday. Wish me luck
Now if I could only find some nice professional clothes that fit me I tried Nordstrom, Macy's, Ann Taylor Loft Petite, Talbot Petite, and so far I can't find a black jacket/blazer.

$8 but I'm not complaining because I was expecting minimum wage since I had no prior work experience. Minimum wage here in Florida is $6.40 which is exactly how much minimum wage was 6 years ago in Connecticut when I earned that much working at an ice cream shop! Sad lol.

Lol I'm just doing it to I have sales experience. It's nice that it's $8 but it's sad that wages are that low here in Boca where rent on a 1/1 apartment comes for no less than $1200 now.
I can't wait to move to North Carolina, that will be refreshing. And my boyfriend wont have to worry about illegals taking his jobs from him.

I must have missed something here. So far, I see an $8/hr job and a boyfriend with a job where he's competing against illegal aliens. Then I see a $1200/mo apartment and a BMW 330i.

My dad pays for rent and my lease since I am a good student and he has no one else to spend it on (he's single and I am an only child). I am graduating a year early, in 3 years, hopefully with honors I know I am lucky but trust me I don't take it for granted.

Its good to see that you appreciate the things your parents do for you. I went to college with people with extremely rich parents and they had no appreciation for anything (and no concept of reality). The usual response by other students when they found out I didn't have a car was, "why don't you just ask your parents to buy a car for you?" They just couldn't comprehend that my parents COULDN'T buy a car for me, especially considering that most of them didn't even appreciate the $50-90k car they were already driving (early 1990's prices).

I still laugh about the crazy jobs I worked over the years to help pay for school and eventually get my own car.

My first job was $0.00/hr in 1988 (no salary, tips only). Although, I was able to take home about $3000 over the summer (tax free).

Dayum I can't see or imagine Nikki working @ VS.

LOL coincidentally, our new receptionist just finshed her 1st week and she worked through school working at VS too. She had zero office experience.

CONGRATS!

call me weird, but I think Victoria Secret is an awesome place for a fine lady to work.

I would not let my girl work there though. Don't want no guys hitting on her with thongs.

Congratulations Nikki. I think its important to have experience working from the bottom up, so dont' worry about the pay rate. Whats important is what you'll learn.

You gonna model some stuff for us?

haha jk
