The 231hp M54 engine from the E46 BMW 330i and the E85/E86 Z4 3.0 is getting a boost. G-POWER has announced a reworked ASA T3-12 supercharger based kit for the M54 engine called G-POWER SK Plus NG Supercharger System. The kit bumps the power of the M54 from 231hp to 306hp (no doubt to intentionally match the 335i's twin-turbo N54 engine's power). Available for 3.320,00 Euro.

The "NG" in the name of the G-POWER SK Plus NG supercharger system is standing for "next generation" and it indicates that the G-POWER SK Plus supercharger system features a complete reworked ASA T3-12 supercharger from the year 2009 on. Thanks to a redesigned supercharger transmission with improved tooth flanks and a modified shaft sealing, the originally for 0,3 bar rel. boost designed ASA T3-12 supercharger is now capable of 0,4 bar rel.

With the G-POWER supercharger system the 231 hp strong "old" 3.0l 6-cylinder M54 engine achieves the same output figures as the current bi-turbo engine, exactly 306 hp. Accordingly the performance figures improve likewise, so that the older version of the BMW 3 series and Z4 for are actually quicker than the current models due to there better power-to-weight ratio.

The G-POWER SK Plus supercharger system for BMW 330i E46 and Z4 3.0i is delivered with TÜV certification (which makes it street legal in Germany). ^ don't get me wrong, I personally love e90's and almost leased an e90 M3 at Christmas, but your reply reminded me of something this kinda nerdy guy said to me the other night when talking about my car...

"The e90's look like they took an e46 and let it melt into a chunky blob." I can kinda see what he's talking about as the e90's do have a "heaviness" about them. There are just so many interesting body lines on the e46 which didn't get carried to the e90. They did kinda get "melted" away.

Maybe a lightly used N54 put into an e46 would be another option in this price range. I think I've decided to hang on to mine forever, let it become my "beater" when I can more comfortably afford an e90 M3. Once the e46 is paid off though, it will receive some nice upgrades, nothing to crazy as I don't want to rattle my teeth out of my skull with a daily driver...

Before I drop 5 grand into a e46 330i I would just by a e46 m3, this is only good for already existing owners of 330i. And even then I would sell the 330i and use the 5 gs to upgrade to a m3 333hp 8k Revs > 306 FI not to mention besides power how much better a m3 is over a 330i.

about 4-5 years too late dont ya think? had I had a e46 back in 06 and this came out, I'd bite. Any word on what other vehicles would it fit on? x3, x5, e39?
