An 0 series BMW? And FWD to boot? The horror! ; -)

Ok. I joined to say this. FWD? Please no. But, I think this should have been the paired hatchback with the 1 coupe. Personally, I think the 1 coupe looks great and the hatchback looks aweful. I do NOT understand why everyone loves the hatchback. It has a ridiculously sized hood that makes the car looks awful and incomplete. Like someone just chopped a coupe in half.
THIS car should have been the hatchback version. Except for FWD, I love it. THIS car could have competed with the VW hatchbacks. |

I like the way it looks, but don't understand what they mean by the gap between the Mini and the 1 series. But if it drove well and was fuel efficient, I'd consider it as a commuter car.

I'd prefer to have the hatchback option than none. But, given the choice between these two, I would take the 0 series over the current design. I'm glad there is choice in the world b/c we can disagree Edit: The dislike stems from the hood. I just can't get past a fullsize hood on a little hatchback |

Why not. Mercedes have had the A series in Europe for over a decade.
It certainly hasn't diluted the prestige of their larger cars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_A-Class

Breaking!
Bmw has introduced ANOTHER line of vehicles shortly after the announcement of the 0 series. The new line of production vehicles will be All Wheel Drive and be equipped with bi-turbos much like the current 1-5 series cars. The numerical label for this new fleet will be dubbed: The '-1' series because they have no other direction to go. |

^a friend of mine at work, who isn't into cars, saw my 135i loaner in the parking lot one day and asked me what it was. I told him it was a 135i. He goes 'oh, I thought it was like a negative 3 series or something."
