Numb Legs (Advice Wanted)

Since I woke up today my back side of my thighs, back of calfs, feet + toes have had a tingly numb feeling.

I haven't done any abnormal physical activity that would affect my legs, so I have no clue what could be causing it.

Looked it on google, but got tons of hits on restless leg syndrome , but highly doubt thats it. If it persists tomorrow, I'll hit up the urgent care probably.

Until then, any ideas what could be the cause?

I hate giving medical advise over the internet. I would say however, that those symptoms are significant enough for you to have it checked out. A very presumptive assumption would be a possible nerve impingement possibly involving your lumbar spine (if thats the case). Even if the symptoms go away, I would still visit a neurologist, but that's just me.

^ Agree. Go get it checked out if it persists. It could be many, many different things.

Sector 7 visited you in your sleep and secretly implanted nanotechnology in your brain which has triggered a chemical reaction that will allow you to transform into anything you want. Congratulations first human transformer ever.

I'm assuming you've already used Web MD or mayoclinic to self diagnose?

I knew this guy who had similar symptoms except they were worse.

He ended up needing to be hospitalized and couldn't walk/get out of bed without assistance for a few weeks.

Turns out he had multiple sclerosis (?).

He's doing better now but it was a rather devistating experience to say the least.

I'm no doctor but if something stays numb continuously i don't think thats a good sign...I mean my legs or arm get numb from sleeping on them but I get the feeling back right away.

My friend had similar symptoms last week and ended up in the hospital for several days. His legs were numb and tingling at first but it progressively got worse. They first diagnosed him with Transverse Myelitis because he had lesions near his spinal cord. After further tests, they found lesions in his brain too. It caused numbness on both his legs and other parts of his body. He took steroid treatments and needed a walker. Luckily, he's getting better and almost walking again.

Hopefully, you don't have this but I would get it checked right away before it does further harm. It seems something is interfering with your spinal cord.

Have you eaten MSG (monosodium glutamate), aspartame/nutrasweet, sucralose/splenda, or any processed or restaurant foods that may contain the aforementioned?

Thanks for the info everyone. Everything has been fine today, still going to get it checked out when I get a chance.

^ To the above post, I don't think I've eaten anything recently with that stuff.

okay, wow... lots of advice.

Go get a proper evaluation complete by a physician so that a more complete assessment of your symptoms can be performed.
