It is a whole lotta camera for the price. For video, it rivals the 7D (one of the best video DSLRs)

If you're not a rapidfire shooter it's probably just about as good as a 7D for half the price. Once prices drop a bit I'm thinking of picking one up to use as a rear lens cap for my 500.

I think most dSLRs can yield great image quality these days. IMHO, getting a more expensive camera doesn't mean you will automatically get better pictures. Learning to use the gear itself will yield greater improvements....again, IMHO.
Case in point is a local photographer that goes by the moniker of 'JDMoto'. I don't know what his current setup is but he used to shoot with a 'measily' Digital Rebel XT...although I recall him selling it a while back. He had some awesome shots with it, though. The XSi is a nice dSLR in and of itself. Is there better? Sure, but it's easy to keep drooling over the next great thing coming out, too. I'd say stick with what you have for a while. Especially since its new. edit: found a few of Jon's old shots on his flickr. I know there's more out there, though.

i think it's the lense that makes more difference than the body itself. So if I were you i'd get the body only and get the lense separate. I currently have the T1i and just ordered the 17-55 2.8/IS lense on a suggestion of a friend and after reading a bunch of reviews on it online.

I ordered the t2i as an upgrade to my wife's rebel xt. Seems like an awesome camera for the price (especially if you want the video functionality).
