Supercharged Elise Vs JB3 2.0 135i?
Hey dudes, I have a friend who thinks his elise once supercharged can beat my 135i. I will be getting the JB3 2.0 soon with the DCI and BT cable package. Will probably run map 5.
Who do you think will win? I have stock tires, probably race from a roll in mexico. I am pretty sure I will smoke that car, his blower adds about 50 hp in a 2000 lbs car so that is substantial. The elise makes about 180 hp stock in a 2100 lb car w/driver, that equates to about 11.1 lbs per hp compared to a 135 with driver about ALSO about 11.1 lbs per hp. With the supercharger hes at 230 hp or 9.1 lb/hp and with map 5 im at around 8.75 lbs/hp. Im pretty sure I will win given the numbers, and the fact I make torque sooner. What do you think?

Soon as you hit 4th gear you should be able to waive bye....
But, if you want to seal the deal, get some race gas and go map 7 or 8. Morover, 2.0 has the capability of being tuned for optimal performance, you can EMAIL Terry after you get the 2.0 installed in regards to this. More or less you will datalog a full 2nd and 3rd gear, and send it to him, he can then recommend settings to get a little more out of your car. You should really do this for a race gas tune. |

I'm pretty sure you'll beat him. We have a crazily modified 914-6 that is about those specs (2000 lbs and 275ish hp/240ish torque) and it can't keep up with my Dinan 1. The torque difference is really killer. I mean it's still a damn fast car, but it's not made for drag racing.

You'd probably start to pull in 3rd and then it'd be bye-bye. They are really quick cars but lack any serious top end.

higher speeds are not where that car will shine. On the track it will wipe its ass w/ ur 1er though.

Get the JB3 fast and practice launching just in case he wants to go from a dig. If he is like most people he will have no clue how to drive the car with an exra 50hp. he will have traction issues with that little car and will not be able to get it off the line. I know htose cars run almost the same as a stock 135i. If he is getting 50 rwhp then that may be hard to beat in a roll race, but you should edge him out on map 7 or 8 with some 100 octane in it.
2.0 Map 5 is a little more conervative than it was in 1.4 from what terry told me so bumping it up map 7 may be a good idea since it is actually more aggressive in 2.0 than it was in 1.4. Cool, thanks for the input.
Will most probably be from a roll, but I prefer dig racing because I come from a drag racing heritage. I am pretty optimistic because I have the luxury of switching maps with the JB3 2.0 and throwing in some 100 octane sauce. I'll let you know the outcome.
