What is the mechanism behind these crazy-ass suggestions? Someone posted a thread a week or two ago about typing in "what" in the google image search page. The first result is just as crazy.

I am no expert but I think it has to do with img boards raiding the search engine. They mobilize massive amounts of people that keep searching for the same phrase, or use a search bot, and eventually that phrase will become the top searched phrase starting with the word why. And once it gets to the top, people like me who was searching for something else sees the top result and I can't help myself but click on it and that's what keeps it on top.
