Can Some 1 explain different Mitsubishi 4WD systems to me?

I tried searching and gathered some info but still not sure. Can some1 point me to a link or better yet just explain to me lol? Below is what I think I figured out so far, please let me know if I am right or wrong. Thanks

Mitsubishi Monteros only

2nd gen.
92-2000 all models. There are 4 modes
2H - Rear wheel drive
4H - full time 4 wheel drive, 50/50 split. SAFE for dry pavement use. Can use up until 64mph.
4Hlc - full time 4 wheel drive, 50/50 split. NOT safe for dry pavement. only for super slippery conditions like mud, ice and gravel.
4Llc - Same as 4Hlc but with more torque and used for low speed towing stuff.

3rd gen.
2001-2002 XLS
same as 2nd gen
2001-2002 limited and all 2003-2006
"Active-Trac" - WHAT IS ACTIVE-TRAC? from what I gathered, it sounds like automatic AWD, that automatically gives more power to the wheel with traction. I don't know, I am lost. a little help?

Wow.. Sounds confusing to me.

I can't even speculate why as the Subaru AWD seems to be only 3 flavours:

Full time AWD 60% front 40% rear
Full time AWD 40% front 60% rear
Full time AWD Continuously variable from 20-60% front or rear

I found out that it's called "Super Select" in other parts of the world... ?

Good luck getting more info!
