# of reverse miles
Last weekend at the dealership we got to talking about how many miles the average person does in reverse for every 50 000 miles done going forward. we agreed that it would be around 25 to 50 miles. what are your opinions.
Sorry if this is a repost.

I would say 3 miles MAX!! backing out of a parking spot 20 feet the the most, drive way 50 most. Not much else reverse driving.....25 miles is ALOT!

But the amount of times you back up is a lot. Im sure I probably back up about a 1/4 of a mile a week. |

You should have titled... "How much do you back that thang up?"
I'd guess about 2 miles/yr, if the avg car drives about 12-15000 miles/year then I'd say in about 50K miles anywhere from 4-6 miles only. Just a guess based on backing up approx 10 ft 3 times/day. Once going to work, once going home and then one random stop somewhere throughout the day.
