2010 SS beats 2011 Mustang GT
http://www.insideline.com/2011-ford-mustang.html
Another article making the Motor Trend test of the new GT questionable. |

Technically, the GT did beat the SS, but they admitted themselves it won due to subjective points. This is the first review I personally have read having the SS out handle the Mustang.

And the stats are so far off the mark of MT's due to the lack of a track package.

The Mustang is a more refined sports car IMO. I have driven a new SS and my step-fathers 07 GT. Even the pre 2011 S197 'stangs are more precise to drive than the new bow-ties.

Hahaha, it says in giant letters on the right that the Mustang is in 1st place. And again at the bottom of the article. Reading comprehension fail.

From the numbers listed the Camaro beats the Mustang in most things that matter to those who buy pony cars, which is what they are, not sports cars. 0-60, 1/4 mile, hp/tq, braking, slalom are what the people want. The Ford comes close but Chevy wins, IMO.

That's a razor-thin advantage for the Camaro and, just to throw in some additional ambiguity, we also tested another Mustang GT (this one in blue and wearing summer tires), which ripped to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and blitzed the 1,320 feet in 13 seconds at 110.6 mph. That's the kind of razor's edge that can be measured in microns. To some .3 seconds might not be much.... but that's pretty large in my book. interesting article, seems to be decently unbiased. still reading through it but my immediate critique is no mention of the axle (the different gearing)? |

Another win for the GT. Not sure why the mustang only has 255s in back, that's way too little tire for that much power. Put some meatier tires on and the 0-60 will improve I bet. |
