Best Internet Security Software

I am trying to find the best internet protection software. Some people have suggested McAfee over Kaperseky Internet Security. I don't know whether to get the Internet Security software of just the Anti Virus software.

They are all expensive and don't know where I should buy them. If you have experience with this, please let me know which one you think or know is to be the best out of all those things that are out right now. Thanks.

I'm a big fan of McAfee Enterprise. It's very different from their home products (which are often crap). Enterprise stays out of your way and does its job. Couldn't be any less intrusive. We've used it for years on hundreds of PCs at work and aside from a hiccup a couple of weeks ago, it's been solid.

MS Security Essentials

Its good and free.

Doesn't take up nearly the system resources of a norton or mcafee product.

hey

im in the same situation as you are, researching some antivirus softwares, im coming of using McAfee which i think worked great for me i never had a problem, but after talking and looking McAfee doesnt seem to popular or liked by many, so after doing some reasearch im gonna get the BitDefender, a lot of people like its just as good as Kaspersey(im not a fan of it) but people like it.
To give you the best advice i can once you know which one you want do what i did and get it from Ebay, i just got the Bit Defender for 30 bucks which it retails for 90.

Malwarebytes works better at removal than anything proactive.

There is no 1 solution.

Its called defense in depth.

Viruses are not really being delivered the same way anymore. Its all done through Iframes now and malware that direct you to websites. NEVER go to a link you get in an e-mail.
Start with Secunia personal software inspector (it will identify when you have apps that need patching).
Run anyold AV product (they are all about the same)
Run Spybot S&D (spybot.net).
Run .noscript plugin ontop of firefox for web browsing (stops iframes) noscript.net
Never be logged in as admin when surfing.

What did I tell you?

http://www.computerworld.com/s/artic...erving_malware
IDG News Service - Three Web sites belonging to the U.S. Department of the Treasury have been hacked to attack visitors with malicious software, security vendor AVG says.

AVG researcher Roger Thompson discovered the issue Monday on three Web domains associated with the home page of the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing. As of late Monday, all three Web sites were still actively serving malicious software and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Web site should be avoided until it's clear that they've been cleaned up, Thompson said in an interview via instant message.

Although the Treasury Department could not be reached for comment, IT staff there appear to be aware of the problem. On Tuesday morning, all three sites had apparently been taken offline and were returning a "page not found" error.

According to Thompson, hackers had added a small snippet of virtually undetectable iframe HTML code that redirected visitors to a Web site in the Ukraine that then launched a variety of Web-based attacks based on a commercially available attack-kit called the Eleonore Exploit pack.

Metaphorically YES - but actually NO

Put it this way, you can disregard if if you wish. But it will come back to bite you. You can either get burned as an admin or as a user..

Doesn't matter to me.. I run noscript.. I load frames I don't know for certain about.
