what are your thoughts on a used gt-r either CPO from a dealer or private sale?
a used gt-r price is about the same price as a brand new m3 and i am stuck with this dilema... only problem is that im pretty sure most gt-r been beat the shit out of ![]() this will be my daily driver as well. thoughts? i will be keeping the gt-r stock as well besides chaning the rims and a bolt on exhaust other than that add window tint & v1 hardwire and ill be done. don't want any warranty hassels.

Yes, assuming the LC1 (?) mode hasn't been used since that one seems to invalidate warranties. It's disabled or replaced with the usable mode in later software, I think...

I think you can also take them to a dealer and get a full diagnostic readout. I believe they can tell you how many times the car has hit the speed limiter, rev limiter, been beaten on, etc.

wrong. oem pads and rotors are around $6k installed, but you can get equally good (if not better) carbotech pads and brembo rotors for around $3k installed. the brakes are essentially off-the-shelf brembo BBK so there are plenty of options. as far as 20k is concerned, that's all dependent on the driver. i estimate i'll be due up for new pads around 10k. i love using my brakes hard. but sure, you can stretch them out for a long time if you baby them, as with any car. i've been through 3 sets of pads and rotors on my m3 in 30k miles, although they were free, but that's how dependent it is on the driver.

no. most car makers don't warranty brakes. that's a wear item just like tires. bmw does because they charge you for it in the MRSP. don't think that you're getting them for free, because there is no such thing as a free lunch.

i'm already at 5k. my pads are still around 3/4-life so i estimate 10k. previous owner didn't drive it much and definitely not hard. i'm not too impressed with the OEM pads anyway. they're dusty and prone to fade when hot. carbotech seems to be the way to go according to NAGTROC guys. i'll be putting those on next.
