Ahi Sustainability
So I was at dinner in a nice restaurant last night, and for my entree I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna. The girl I was with got offended and told me I shouldnt be ordering that since it is being over fished and is no longer sustainable.
2 questions. 1. Is this just a bunch of hippie BS, or is there actually something to what she said? 2. If the fish is already caught, cleaned, prepared and at the location, is there really much harm in ordering it instead of having it being thrown out the next day?

Who cares? Eat whatever the hell you want. She's a nobody. If it's your girl that you're in a committed relationship and you actually respect her, then I would reconsider. Hell, actually no I would not, I'd drop her the first night if she told that to me.

Its all being over fished. According to some reports seafood as we know it might be exhausted by 2040. I'm sure theres some truth to that... in the sense that its going to get a lot more expensive (supply and demand curves).
Eat what you want while its cheap-- let the free market decide what part of the environment you want to destroy-- just ask BP about that one lol |
