Cadillac to offer free maintenance

Just when you think you heard it all:

Cadillac will be providing a free scheduled maintenance program for 2011 vehicles. The program is similar to what BMW has offered. Cadillac’s maintenance program is part of their effort to raise customer satisfaction and retention.

The program, called Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance, will provide owners of all 2011 models with frequently required maintenance services for the first four years or 50,000 miles. The service will cover scheduled oil changes, tire rotations, replacement of engine and cabin air filters and a multi-point vehicle inspection.

The Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance program will launch late this summer after the arrival of 2011 models at dealerships.

Cadillac is being smart. They are having their staff trained by The Ritz-Carlton (some of the best customer service in the world) and are now offering free maintenance.

Lincoln is doing it, too. They're offering 3/45K on 2010 and 2011 models.

Its a smart decision for those who dont give a shit about maintenance. It should give them a better reliablity factor and a selling point.

yes, the best your tax $$$ can buy!!!!! In all seriousness, it's about freakin' time they woke up. I personally think the CTS is a pretty unique looking car. Not sure I'd ever buy one but I might give it a look. But I think the CTS-V is a bit too much car for me!

Never having owned a Cadillac I'm not sure how good their current service is. However I would be interested to see if the quality of service goes down with the free maintenance. I have a feeling all these free maintenance plans kill service quality. Same thing happened with VW.

They are all "trying" to be like BMW which is a good thing. I just heard a commercial comparing the chevy mailbu to the 328i. Keep trying.

Yeah I have a feeling this will happen too. It's a shame. Of course, without free maintenance, some say they shorten the intervals to make more money as well, so how do you find that happy medium where you're actually getting what your car needs?

I've heard that one on the radio. The lady who traded in her 328xi for a Malibu, and she states of the Malibu: "The interior is superior". I know it's subjective, and they play it off like it's just some random lady, not a spokesperson, but you just can't state things like that in a commercial. The Malibu is actually a decent car IMO, not one I would personally compare with a 328xi for any reason, but to state something like that as fact is misleading.

GM has done several things since this bailout that have me giving them the shifty eye. I do like their cars, but Ford's business practices and products impress me far more.

Except, of course, for the friggin Lions. Ford may be the only one of the Big 3 who didn't need bailout money, but they have created the worst franchise in the history of professional sports.... It makes no sense.

Agreed. I used to be a GM guy, but my next truck will be a Ford. No more GM for me.
